Let Sebastian Color Ignite Whip Your Hair Into Condition!

Do you color your hair? I bet you do! More than 80% of women around the world do. Colouring our hair changes the chemical structure of the hair shaft, specifically the layer that holds onto conditioning ingredients. Colouring makes it very thirsty and wanting to absorb all the water it can. My hair is so dry and damaged! But did you know that water is responsible for 80% of color loss? So what's an almost 25 year hair coloring veteran supposed to do? Ignite some customized conditioning into her parched, colored hair with Sebastian Proffesional Color Ignite!

PhotobucketSebastian Professional has just launched an all new hair color care line called Color Ignite. Sebastian Colour Ignite has two formulas to choose from-SINGLE TONE for single tone colored hair and MULTI TONE for multi-tonal and highlighted hair. The Color Ignite Line has a "Smart Color Complex' which are smart polymers that let the conditioning agents stick to the damaged layer of color-treated hair. Sebastian Color Ignite is intelligent hair care that recognizes, responds and reacts to the needs of single tone or multi-tonal hair and gives you the results that your hair needs. The Single Tone shampoo and condtioner helps seal the hair cuticle and smooth the surface. The Muti-Tone shampoo and conditioner targets the damaged gaps on hair strands by helping to restructure them and enhance both the coloured and highlighted parts. The Sebastian Color Ignite Conditioners are a new whipped formula- a mousse, so it has great spreadability and covers each strand of hair very easily.

I was lucky enough to have Lindsey from Sebastian send me the Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner for Single Tone Colored Hair to try. As you may or may not know, I have wavy/curly hair that I colour. I have to "wash those greys right outta' my hair! "every 4-6 weeks.  My hair is very dry for two reasons: because I colour it and because curly hair is just naturally drier and craves moisture; it tries to suck in any type of moisture it can get. This is why my hair tends to get all frizzy when it's humid out or when I visit the West Coast. Remember that Friends episode when they go to Barbados and Monica's hair gets all frizzy? Yeah, that's what happens to Tracy:

The Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner smells nice-a bit flowery, but not overpowering at all. The shampoo lathers up nicely and you don't need a lot. My hair felt very smooth and conditioned after using the shampoo which was amazing! Usually my hair always feels a bit dry and stripped after I shampoo, but not with Sebastian Color Ignite.  I was pretty amazed!

PhotobucketThe Sebastian Color Ignite Conditioner is the coolest conditioner I've tried in a long time. It's a mousse! Not an airy mousse like the styling kind-it's very smooth, has some body to it, yet whipped and light. You need very little of it also-the amount you see is plenty for my length of hair. If you have longer hair you'd obviously need more, but this stuff really spreads. I applied the Sebastian Color Ignite Conditioner after shampooing and waited about 2-3 minutes before rinsing. Rinsing it out was the weirdest experience-it was as if my hair just soaked up all of the conditioner because there was hardly anything to rinse out! My hair was smooth and conditioned.

Styling my hair was a breeze after using Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner. I had nice, smooth waves with no frizz, even two days later. I don't wash my hair every day, so on off days I just spray a bit of conditioner on my hair to revive the curl. I usually get a bit of frizz from doing that, but not lately. My hair is so nicely conditioned that it doesn't seem to need to absorb any more moisture. I don't need to spray something in my hair any longer to revive the curl and tame the frizz. My hair is also shiny, which it normally isn't. The colour looks more vibrant too.

PhotobucketI got to ask Irina Bilka, the What's Next Award Winner who is from Salon Lofts in Clearwater Florida a few questions. She worked backstage at the Alice & Olivia Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week Show and is an amazing hairstylist.

What is it about Sebastian Products that you like?
Sebastian Professional has always been an iconic styling brand and it’s very exciting to partner with them, especially as they continue to reinvent themselves.  The products inspire me to create any look I want, there is no limit!  They work perfectly with every hair type to deliver incredible results.

What makes them your choice of product backstage?
Sebastian Professional is my choice of product backstage because their line of products is incredibly versatile and I can rely on them to help me achieve any amazing outcome.  My must-have stylers include Volupt Spray
for bigger, longer-lasting volume with a softer feel, Trilliant for a glamorous, shiny finish, and Re-Shaper, a brushable, humidity-resistant, strong-hold hairspray.  My absolute favorite product is Shaper Fierce, an ultra-firm finishing hairspray, because whether I’m shooting inside or out, it bestows a mega hold!

I'm really enjoying my Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo and Conditioner and highly recommend them if you colour your hair like I do. I think I'm going to to try the Re-Shaper hairspray that Irina likes when I purchase these products when I run out.

Sebastian Haircare Products are sold in Salons or at Fabove.ca and beautybay.com.
