Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow

I'll say it again-I'm noticing a lot of blue eye shadow palettes in the drugstore lately.

You all know about my love affair with blue eyeshadow now, so this review should come as no surprise!

Rimmel London has some new eyeshadow palettes called Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow. Here's a picture of the ad:

That's some blue eyeshadow! I picked up the Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow used in this ad called State Of Grace.

Doesn't look quite as intense coloured as it does in the ads, hey? I think if you put a white base down first, you'd get a brighter blue. They had to have done some colour tweaking though with that ad.

Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow swatch nicely and look pretty pigmented, but to work with them takes a bit of patience. They are not of the same quality as Wet N Wild eyeshadows that's for sure. Really makes me appreciate Wet N Wild more-they really are the best eyeshadows in the drugstore.

It took a bit of layering and packing on to get the colour to a nice pigmentation, but it was no where close to looking as vibrant as that promo ad.

With a primer, the Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow lasted about 5 hours before I started noticing the colour fading.

It's a very Seventies vibe you get with this quad. I found this Seventies inspired look done by makeup artist extraordinaire Lisa Eldridge for Boots No. 7.

With all the Seventies fashions in the stores right now and this
Rimmel Glam'eyes Quad Eye Shadow in State of Grace you'll be looking like you are ready for Woodstock my friends!

Are you feeling the whole Seventies trend going on right now?

  1. Oh wow! I haven't seen these anywhere yet. I'm so drawn to blue shadows but such a wuss when it comes to putting it on. Your eye looks so pretty!

  2. @Liz: Thanks Liz! You are so sweet. I know, blues can be scary but you should just try it once!

  3. They're actually more pigmented than I would have guessed, but still definitely not as intense as the ad suggests. I hate when ads do that!

Although I love the look of a good blue in general, I've never felt like it complemented my green eyes (unless it's an almost-black navy). But I agree with Liz, it looks great with yours!

  4. @Caitlin: Navy would look great with your green eyes!

  7. You did a great job with these! I have one of the single shadows in a pink color & it has very little payoff, bit hard to work with :(

  8. @Tracy D: Thanks-it took some work that's for sure. I wish they didn't fade though!
