Cartoon Saturdays! Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Inspired EOTD

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of our family's favourite movies ever. We fell in love with it in 2003. It's a long story, but since you're here, have a seat!

You see, in 2003 we had a trip to Disneyland planned right at the beginning of July. We were all looking so forward to it! It was our first big trip there. But the weekend before we left, my husband tore his achilles tendon at work. Poor guy, it happened while he was working televising a CFL game in Regina. They didn't want to do anything there, so by the time he got home to Edmonton and finally had surgery done, it was late Monday night.

Disneyland was canceled. :( My daughter who was ten at the time, cried for days.

There were two good things that came out of this though:

 1. My husband was home for about 4 months with us healing. He travels a lot for his job, so having him around for the whole summer was awesome, even if he was kind of crippled.

 2. We rescheduled our Disneyland trip for the fall, specifically the very end of October.


Now, we had no idea, but Disneyland redecorates the Haunted Mansion every year with The Nightmare Before Christmas theme! It's awesome! A mix of Halloween and Christmas together like no other. If you have never seen it, I highly recommend it!



And that's when we fell in love with the movie! We had the best trip there we've ever had there.
