A Blush Fiend's Changes For 2012

Yup, it's that time of year again! Time to make some resolutions, or as I prefer to call them changes.

I have not always been big on change, but lately I am embracing change and thinking of it as more of an opportunity to grow. To get better. And who doesn't want to be better?

1. The first step in my growth is to have a Blush Ban for the next 6 months. I know, it's sad-I mean I am a blush fiend at heart. But I have so many pretties that sit unloved, so the fiend has to be put in handcuffs. I think it will be so much fun rediscovering my blush collection again.
So no more purchased blushes by me. If you see a new blush review, it's one that I've purchased last year (and there's a couple coming up!) Now, if I am sent one to review by a PR or given one as a gift, then that won't count of course. It's not polite to give back blush bought as a gift-first rule of the blush fiend if ya' didn't know.
By the way, my Birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks-anyone? haha -I can try, right? :)

2. Finally get serious about losing weight and get me healthy! Oh, I've tried a little here and there over the past year, but truthfully my heart wasn't quite into it. But this time, I've finally had enough. I've gained a lot of weight since my MS diagnosis 11 years ago. It's time for it to go. First step will be getting a treadmill so I can run again. I so enjoyed running over the summer and miss it a lot. Next step will be joining Weight Watcher's. I was successful before on it, and I know I can be again. Also-take my iron pills! My severe anemia has given me terrible dark circles under my eyes. That sounds so vain, but it looks so horrible and no amount of concealer can cover them up. I have trouble with iron pills as they hurt my tummy, but I must forge on and build new blood cells! Also, take my Vitamins too, especially vitamin D which my neurologist insists  that I take 2000-3000 IU every day. I seem to be deficient in it as well. Sigh.

Also, I was sent some femMED Weight Management supplements to try out. It's a supplement that  helps support healthy weight loss. femMED Weight Management has a unique blend of soluble fibres: glucomannan, inulin along with carob and psyllium fibre that work together to increase the feeling of fullness, improve blood glucose control, cholesterol levels and improve bowel function. Sign me up! Sounds like exactly what I need! I'll let you know how they work out.

3. Eat more fruits and veggies! I love my veggies, but it's fruit I have a problem with. I used to love fruit when I was younger, but have gotten out of the habit of eating it. I will try to eat fruit every day from now on. This is my present to you, my dear colon. :)

4. Read more books! Not just blogs. :) First one on my Kindle is Room by Emma Donoghue.

5. Declutter and organize the house. Time to get rid of stuff I don't need anymore and donate it to someone who does.

6. Be more mindful of my makeup purchases and try to only buy new things if they are unique and unlike anything I already have.

7. Rediscover how much I love cooking. I used to cook and bake quite a bit, read recipe magazines, and loved experimenting with food. Lately I just kind of stick to making the same old boring things. I want to have fun cooking again, especially since I want to lose weight. There's nothing worse than eating boring food while dieting. Blech.

8. Keep in touch more often with my family members-the sane ones at least!

9. Give out more hugs. Hugs are the best!

10. Laugh every day. It's good for the soul!

I think that's it! These are the changes I'm committing myself to. Every now and again I'll fill you in on my progress, so I hope you won't mind too much.

Do you try to make changes every year? What are some of yours?
